About Parkland
Parkland offers you various pitch types and high quality, modern facilities for touring and camping across three acres of level, well maintained landscaped grounds and colourful gardens, with excellent drainage. A selection of glamping and self-catering options are also available onsite.

Our Setting & Heritage
The site is surrounded by natural Devon hedgerows, rich with wildlife, and enjoys views towards Salcombe, as well as across the rolling countryside towards Dartmoor. Guests can enjoy hedgerow flowers such as primrose and stitchwort, along with seasonal flower beds, and of course the stunning butterflies drawn to the buddleia. Watch out for resident hedgehogs, the local pheasant, and if you’re lucky, the tawny owl – if you don’t see him, you will certainly hear him. You’ll also find an abundance of sparrows, wrens, robins, dunnocks, tits and blackbirds throughout the site.
Parkland’s story began in a very simple way. My grandparents, having retired and settled at Parkland, were visited by guests who use to stay at the old site. They were so taken with the setting and the views that they asked if they could camp there.
In true practical fashion, my grandfather handed them a pair of shears so they could cut a small patch in the field and pitch their tent. A few weeks later, they returned with friends – this time with a small caravan as well.
From those humble beginnings, Parkland gradually evolved into the campsite it is today. I’m not sure what my grandfather would make of the changes over the years.
Parkland has operated as a campsite since 1971 and has been run by myself, the resident owner, for nearly 40 years. Camping here is part of our family heritage, with great grandparents establishing one of the first camping sites in the South Hams area. We are proud of this legacy and continue to offer a traditional yet modern camping and touring experience at Parkland.
Over time, we have diversified to include glamping and self-catering accommodation, along with camping pitches offering private and ensuite facilities. We continue to evolve while staying true to our roots, and we like to think the spirit of those first simple stays is still very much alive today.

The site is ideally situated for exploring all that this stunning South Devon National Landscape has to offer. Ramble the South West Coast Path, relax on glorious sandy beaches and secluded coves, visit historic towns and quaint villages, and enjoy a wide range of attractions and activities, along with an array of excellent dining options.
If you’re stuck for something to do, or unsure where to go, just ask – our local knowledge is endless. We are fortunate to have a bus stop at the entrance, offering direct services to Totnes, with onward connections to the English Riviera and Exeter, or to Dartmouth. You can also travel into Kingsbridge and on to Salcombe, or change there for services to Plymouth.
