Parkland offers you various pitch types and high quality, modern facilities for touring and camping over three acres of level, well maintained landscaped grounds and gardens, with excellent drainage. A selection of glamping and self-catering options are also available onsite.
We are so proud of our AA five gold pennant rating, along with five stars from Visit England. We are also delighted to be a member of Premier Parks and Best of British. We pride ourselves on providing you with exceptional facilities and services. At Parkland you will experience high quality amenities and of course five star customer care, especially for grown ups.
The site is surrounded by natural Devon hedgerows, abundant with wildlife, with views towards Salcombe, and the rolling countryside towards Dartmoor. Enjoy the hedgerow flowers of primrose and stitchwort, and our seasonal flower beds, and of course stunning butterflies amongst the buddleia…Watch out for the resident hedgehogs, the local pheasant and if you’re lucky, the barn owl (if you don’t see him you will certainly hear him), plus an abundance of sparrows, wrens and robins.
Parkland has been a ‘campsite’ since 1971, and has been run by myself, the resident owner for nearly 40 years. Camping sites are the family heritage, with great grandparents starting the first ‘camping’ site in the South Hams area. We pride ourselves on this family heritage in order to provide you with a traditional, but modern ‘camping or touring’ holiday at Parkland. Moving forward we have now diversified to include ‘glamping’ and self catering options – not sure what my Grandfather would make of the changes over the years, including a selection of camping pitches with private facilities.
The site is ideally situated for exploring all that this stunning area of outstanding natural beauty has to offer…ramble the South West Coast Path, relax on glorious sandy beaches and secluded coves, visit historic towns or quaint villages and of course enjoy the many tourist attractions and activities along with an array of fine dining eateries.
If you’re stuck for something to do, or don’t know where to go, just ask, our local knowledge is endless. Our nearest bus stop is just 400 yards from the site, from here you catch a direct bus to Totnes for connecting services to the English Riviera and Exeter, or just pop down into Kingsbridge and onto Salcombe or change for Dartmouth and Plymouth.
