About Parkland
Welcome to Parkland, the traditional high quality site suitable for all family.
Open all year round, the site is set within three acres of level, well maintained grounds. Parkland is surrounded by natural Devon hedgerows, which are abundant with wildlife; views are panoramic over Salcombe and the rolling countryside towards Dartmoor.
Grass and hard-standing pitches are available; you will find that even during the wet weather our pitches have excellent drainage.
All pitches have 16 amp electric hook-up.
On site you will find all the amenities that you will require for your comfort on a touring or camping holiday.
The facilities include an indoor dish washing room, fridge/freezers, microwave oven and family wash rooms, and disabled suite. All the site buildings are centrally heated during the cooler months.
The site has a large children's playground, along with trampolines and an indoor table tennis room.
All site facilities are free of charge, with the exception of a modern laundry room with metered machines.
Wi-Fi is available on site and a donation to Devon Air Ambulance is requested if this service is used.
We do not offer an on-site shop. Just half a mile from us you will find a local butcher (Aune Valley) with a fantastic selection of local meats for your barbecue, and fresh local vegetables for the salad, along with a small selection of other local produce.
The village of Churchstow is one mile from Parkland, here you will find a small friendly general store and post office, if you can't find what you are looking for here, you will need to head into Kingsbridge, just a mile away where you will find a supermarket on the outskirts of town, or venture to the high street for more traditional shops and delicatessens.
A bus stop is 200 yards from the site, which will give you access to Kingsbridge, Dartmouth, Totnes, Plymouth or Exeter.
Please note we do not allow dogs on site.
You will find information on our 'around and about' page on the area including the towns of Kingsbridge, Salcombe and Dartmouth, along with a guide to the local beaches which include Bantham, Thurlestone and Blackpool Sands.

All the electric hook-ups and equipment are annually tested and approved by NICEIC.
Please note due to new European law we are unable to provide electrical sockets for hair-dryers, shavers and mobile phone charging in the on site facilities. Fixed hair-dryers are provided, along with purpose shaver points and we are happy to charge mobile phones for a small donation to the Devon Air Ambulance.
All our gas boilers and water heaters are annually tested by a CORGI registered trades person.
We also invite the local environmental health office to inspect and advise us annually.
Keeping the South Hams Green
As a small business we try to do as much as possible to help the environment and hopefully do far more than is expected of us.
We have already changed light bulbs to energy savings bulbs wherever possible, we have also installed an energy efficient lighting system in all the facilities - meaning no lights are left on unnecessarily. New laundry equipment has been purchased, and we have ensured that the machines are energy saving.
We also have a very strong view on refuse disposal; the site operates a voluntary recycling option at the present time. We are hoping this year that the local councils will be more helpful to us in providing a trade recycling facility limiting the amount of refuse that our visitors leave for landfill.
A number of changes will be taking place over the winter of 2007/2008.
We have been lucky enough to obtain a grant from ERDF and Devon Renaissance; this will enable us to install a large solar powered water heating system. Out of season this will heat at least 50% of our hot water, during the busier months this is expected to heat 30% - 40% of our hot water. This will be backed up by our existing hot water systems which were installed over the winter of 2006/2007. This system is highly efficient and energy saving.
At least 50% of the electricity consumed at Parkland will be sourced from a renewable energy source, i.e. Wind or Tidal.
Over the next few years every effort will be made on site to reduce waste and unnecessary emissions, helping to keep Devon Green for generations to come.
Should you require additional information please contact the site office, open from 8.00am to 8.30pm daily, or send an email - email response normally within 24 hours.
